This private masterplan development was for an entire new “greenfield” city of 600,000 housing units for 3 million people, with all the supporting schools, clinics, mosques and commercial buildings. The project was sponsored by the World Bank, the US, Japan, and the Dehsabz City Development Authority (DCDA). Sustainability and Hutong design principals added much needed security infrastructure to the new city.
