This Senior Community Design by Lantz Boggio included both architecture and inteior design services. The objective of this entry is to elevate the visibility of the community to the public, demonstrating how senior living environments can thrive with the same presence and accessibility as retail spaces. The design creates an inviting, highly visible entrance that not only attracts the surrounding community but also provides a sense of cohesion for residents on campus.
The entry experience starts well before reaching the building itself—beginning at the public right-of-way. This campus had a unique opportunity to reimagine the entry sequence, incorporating a roundabout to enhance the approach. By introducing this roundabout, public vehicular circulation is subtly redirected, drawing greater attention to the property and emphasizing the architectural design. Upon navigating the roundabout, visitors are naturally led toward the main entry’s grand porte-cochere, whose elegant curve serves as a striking, almost sculptural focal point.
The overarching goal for Senior Community Design is to create a series of captivating “wow moments” that intrigue visitors, encouraging them to explore further. This journey continues seamlessly from the exterior to the interior, where visually compelling spaces keep the experience engaging and memorable.
Lifestyle and wellness programs include: a state-of-the-art fitness gyms; exercise studios for group classes, yoga, tai chi, and more; a pickleball court; a salon and spa; and a health center for convenient on-site appointments with podiatrist, optometrist, nurse practitioner, etc.
LB/A and ID also designed a variety of spaces for leisure and entertainment, including a performing arts center, movie theater, art studio, club and game room, golf simulator, and multiple courtyards and patios. Additionally, Hillcrest Highlands features multiple, acuity-specific dining areas along with the Highview Pub, which features large indoor and outdoor seating areas and views of downtown Omaha.
