LB/A provided Senior Living Architectural Design for Heartis® Buckhead, located in Atlanta’s iconic Buckhead neighborhood. The community offers all-inclusive Senior Living with the most advanced services and amenities to enrich the lives of its residents. Designed as a full-service community offering 213 resident units of Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care, Heartis® Buckhead takes full advantage of its prominent location at a highly traveled Atlanta intersection by emphasizing active, street-level amenity spaces, innovative use of the site and design that compliments the varied urban character of the neighborhood.

This concept of “mainstreaming” the project as a community destination is consistent with proven desires and preferences of newer generations of seniors to connect with their neighborhoods in a meaningful way.

The design concept optimizes the opportunities of its location by programming restaurant and retail spaces at the street-level community interface. A variety of flexible gathering and social amenity functions were also programmed at the ground level to afford management the ability to program activities that include the all-age community at large.

In addition to the first-floor amenities, some of the unique program elements included in the community are a fitness club overlooking a rooftop pool and deck, outdoor gardens, and a 180-degree Sky Lounge on the 18th floor overlooking the city.

Since it was built, Heartis® Buckhead has won multiple awards for its Senior Living Design, including the 2023 NAHB 55+ Housing Gold Award, 2023 efa Design Showcase, and 2022 SHN Architecture & Design for CCRC/LPC Lite.
