Disney Celebration, an innovative community designed to inspire meaningful lifestyles for newer generations of older adults, exemplifies excellence in Skilled Nursing Design. This 120-bed facility includes 60 beds for short-term care and 60 for long-term care, carefully crafted to meet Disney’s rigorous Art Deco guidelines. Every design element, from materials to details, required approval from the renowned architectural office of Robert A.M. Stern, ensuring an impeccable blend of form and function.
The interiors draw inspiration from the hospitality industry, incorporating materials like marble, glass, and stainless steel to create a luxurious yet functional environment. Geometric forms and details evoke iconic Art Deco aesthetics, providing residents with spaces that feel both modern and timeless. Living areas are flexible and adaptable, fostering social camaraderie among residents while maintaining a sense of personal comfort.
A key aspect of the project was integrating evidence-based design principles to create therapeutic environments. The team relied on the latest research in cultural changes within nursing care and consumer expectations. This informed the creation of spaces that promote healing and support meaningful lifestyles for residents and their families.
Central to the community is the Town Center, which features Great Rooms, Cyber Lounges, Bistros, and other hospitality-inspired spaces. Floor-to-ceiling glass connects these areas to a beautifully landscaped outdoor courtyard, offering a range of experiences. The design incorporates covered outdoor areas, walking paths, a water feature, a fire pit, and therapeutic landscaping to encourage outdoor engagement and wellness.
