Architecture is my tool to achieve what matters most to me, the care of a resident. My passion is to team with our clients to provide the best environments for their residents. Our buildings are not just buildings, they are caring and healing environments for people who call them home.


Fun Fact: When David is away from the office he is dedicated to his faith, his family, and fun. And when he can combine them, he will. David has been dancing since he was a teen and continued through his young adult years as a hip-hop dancer. He and his wife began ballroom dancing four years ago. Through their church, they take in victims of domestic abuse and are encouraged to develop a program that combines biblical values with dance principles to mend broken marriages.

What do you enjoy most about working at LB/A?  When people stop by and we talk about things other than work, or when someone asks for my opinion regarding architecture in a mentorship way.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?  Invisibility . . . {POOF} . . .

Favorite, go-to comfort movie?  "Fletch" or "Monty Python: Search for the Holy Grail"

Dwight Miller

I thrive in the technical aspects of architectural design. My passion is collaborating with clients, consultants, colleagues, building officials, and contractors to foster consensus and a unified vision for the project and the end product. Finding a path through regulatory constraints to meet the intent and goals of a project contributes to my most rewarding work in this industry.  

Fun Fact: When Dwight is not studying Architectural Codes, you can find him spending time on the weekends working on home improvement projects. He is an avid rock concertgoer with a passion for target shooting and enjoys board games with his family.

Tyler Depew

I am inspired by the challenges of technical documentation to understand the complexity of balancing project economics and project efficiency which make a successful project. I use my 22+ years of experience and knowledge to mentor staff to set them up for success. It is the relationships that are built along the way that I value most, and those relationships follow me to the next project.

Fun Fact: Outside of the office, Tyler is a compulsive home improver. When he got married, he somehow convinced his wife to buy an old house that needed new everything. He was even featured on an episode of Sweat Equity on DIY Network where he renovated his small one-car garage into a woodshop (Season 2, Episode 2, original air date 1/25/2008). Since then, he has built countless pieces of furniture, cabinets, and a custom wet bar for his house. Now that Tyler has renovated every square foot of his house, he’s considering moving so he can start over.

What is your favorite project you're working on and why?  Our Active Adult work is really interesting as it is a new solution for a new generation, so there is lots of energy in the industry.

What drives me is the design and development of senior communities that meet and exceed the expectations of our clients. This needs to be done in a way that is respectful of budgetary concerns and the many other challenges a typical project will face. My goal is to build collaborative relationships with our clients and together, creating the most outstanding Senior Environments in America.


What first interested you in architecture?  I believe it started with my love of LEGO when I was a kid.

What is the best advice you've ever received?  Don't take life too seriously. Be Happy.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?  Fly planes.

As the leader of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Committee, I enjoy training my colleagues on the latest technology while being a resource to help develop their skills. For me, Business Development has been a narrative of turning viable ventures and ideas into blueprints. I've charted a course through the competitive landscape, engaging in client pitches and negotiations, all with YOU in mind. From cultivating relationships with national builders to collaborating with fellow architects on ambitious projects, I've helped translate architectural visions into realities. If you have a development in mind – new builds, renovations and additions, et al – I'm you're guy!


What was your first job and what did you learn from it that influences the way you work today?  As a youngster, I detasseled corn in Missouri. It taught me to shape up and get an education so that I could get the heck out of Missouri and not detassel corn! :)

What is the best advice you've ever received?  "Watch out for that rattlesnake that's right in front of you . . ."

I firmly believe that a well-forged and effective end-product or service is created by researching and interacting with the surrounding culture, subsequently providing the consumer and client with desired results. Throughout my day, I like to sprinkle some humor around the office (usually in the form of "eye-rolly" puns) and treat people with genuine kindness, all while taking care of LB/A's graphics, public relations and communications, and everything in between. Working in silence gives me the creeps, so I usually have some sort of music filling the atmosphere of my office.


What do you enjoy most about working at LB/A? The creative freedom and the people I work alongside.

Favorite comfort food? Gumbo. Or French Fries. Or Ice Cream. Well . . . I guess just "food."

I strive to provide superior value to all our partners involved in delivering a healthcare project.  I realize that this value does not end with a great, cost-efficient design.  Our design projects when completed must deliver an outstanding patient experience while optimizing the healing environment in which providers deliver care.


What trends/changes do you hope to see in the future of the architecture industry?  In healthcare, we see more and more technology driving care combined with a strong focus on outpatient services.
